About the role

We’re always looking for talented and passionate cooks to join our back-of-house family and accurately prepare the many dishes guests have come to know and love at Flanigan’s.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
• Prepare menu items according to Flanigan’s company recipe manual and plate presentation
• Ensure rotation of all products and stock products to par level to keep the kitchen running smoothly
• Complete assigned prep work to stock and set up stations as necessary
• Transport items to and from the kitchen; assist vendor with unloading delivery trucks
• Clean and maintain kitchen area throughout the shift
• Break down and clean all stations at closing

Physical demands

• Stand/walk 100% of the shift
• Reach, bend, stoop
• Lift up to 50 lbs. several times per shift and to high shelves, coolers, freezers
• Hold items weighing up to 5 lbs. for long periods
• Work in high-temperature, damp indoor environment and minimally outdoors

Requirements

• Ability to speak, read, and write English
• Ability to read recipes and food labels
• Ability to read POS ticket orders
• Communicate ticket times, execute food flow from kitchen to guests, and report potential issues to the manager on duty
• Safely use kitchen machinery (open-flame grill, stove, slicer, etc.)
• Work safely with hot plates, pots, and pans
• Work safely with sharp knives and utensils
• Complete and pass the food safety certification program in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
