About the role
TowBoatU.S. Ft. Lauderdale is seeking dependable, hardworking, and safety-focused crew members to serve aboard our 96-foot Offshore Supply Vessel, Richard L. Becker. This hands-on position supports a variety of marine operations including towing, offshore charter projects, cargo and personnel transport, salvage support, vessel maintenance, equipment deployment, and other specialized marine services.
Responsibilities
- Assist with vessel operations during towing, charter, transportation, and salvage support projects
- Participate in deck operations, line handling, towing gear deployment, and vessel mooring
- Assist with loading, unloading, securing, and transporting cargo and equipment
- Support crane, lifting, rigging, and equipment deployment operations
- Perform vessel maintenance, cleaning, painting, and preservation tasks
- Maintain decks, machinery spaces, and work areas in a clean and safe condition
- Participate in safety drills, emergency response procedures, and vessel readiness activities
- Assist with fueling operations and inventory management
- Support offshore projects throughout South Florida, the U.S. East Coast, and the Bahamas
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Captain or management
Requirements
- STCW Certification
- Current TWIC Card
- Valid Passport
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
- Port Everglades Port ID or ability to obtain one
- Ability to participate in a random drug testing program
- Ability to travel and work extended assignments when required
- Strong work ethic and commitment to safety
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Prior Experience
- Previous offshore vessel experience
- Mechanical aptitude and vessel maintenance experience
- Experience with cranes, lifting, and rigging operations
- Experience with towing operations and line handling
- Experience aboard offshore supply vessels, tugboats, workboats, or commercial vessels
- Knowledge of marine safety procedures and equipment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds
- Ability to handle lines, towing gear, rigging equipment, and cargo safely
- Ability to climb ladders, vessel structures, and gangways
- Ability to board vessels from docks, small boats, and varying sea conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work on deck for extended periods
- Ability to work on uneven, wet, and slippery surfaces
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, humidity, rain, wind, and offshore environments
- Ability to safely work around cranes, winches, towing gear, and moving equipment
- Ability to work long hours while underway on charter or project assignments
- Ability to respond to emergencies and perform physically demanding tasks when required
- Ability to swim and dive in inland waterways and the ocean

Compensation
$190.00 - $225.00 per day
