Deburr operator

Responsibilities

  • Remove burrs from machined surfaces and create either an edge break or radius using automated equipment and/or hand tools.
  • Buff oxidation off parts prior to weld operation.
  • Remove weld flush using hand tools or machine.
  • Mark serial/part numbers as required using hand tools or dot peen marking machine.
  • Send parts through water flow.
  • Power wash or ultrasonic clean parts as required.
  • Perform first piece inspection.
  • Support production needs in other areas as required.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Math skills, including decimal and fractions; simple use of formulas.
    • Ability to read blueprints/schematics/drawings and charts tables.
    • Use of measuring tools and equipment.
    • Ability to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of set-ups, operations and processes.
    • Ability to interpret and follow instructions, prescribed routines, methods and practices.
    • Checking of reports, forms, records and comparable data.
  • Experience: 1+ years of Manufacturing experience preferred.

About the role

Howmet Aerospace is now hiring for DEBURRING/FINISH MACHINE OPERATORS. The position offers a starting salary of $18 with potential for increases after training and shift differentials. Shift differentials include $2.00 for 2nd shift and $3.00 for 3rd shift. External hires are eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus. Excellent benefits, including competitive 401K plan, are provided.
