This is a temporary, episodic position driven by disaster events, located in Noblesville, IN (Hamilton County).

About the role

We are a leading Disaster Recovery Emergency Management Consulting firm seeking Debris Monitors to perform onsite monitoring and observation of debris loading and hauling activities.

Responsibilities

  • Act courteously, respectfully, and professionally with residents, contractors, county or city officials, and fellow employees.
  • Report to work on time, check in with supervisor, and attend staging muster to receive assignments and updates.
  • Proceed to assigned work zone or meet trucks at designated areas to monitor loading activities.
  • Observe and confirm that hauling contractors load only eligible storm-related debris from public rights-of-way or property, avoiding private property.
  • Wear a safety vest and hardhat at all times while out of the vehicle.
  • Maintain a safe distance from loading operations; report unsafe conditions or reckless contractor behavior to supervisor.
  • Complete logs accurately and legibly; record any damages caused by contractors to private property or public utilities.
  • Report to supervisor at the end of the day, submit all tickets, logs, and field forms, and brief supervisor on daily activities and issues.
  • Sign out on the roster and complete timesheet, with supervisor verification.
  • Climb ladders, trucks, and platforms up to 20 feet; lift 25 lbs. throughout the day.
  • Work in high temperatures with high humidity, disaster areas, and harsh outdoor conditions while following all health and safety guidelines.

Requirements

  • Positive, friendly, and courteous customer and client skills.
  • Good teamwork and cooperation skills.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and work instructions at all times.
  • Pass a drug screen, motor vehicle, and criminal background check.
  • Valid state driver’s license and proof of liability insurance.
  • Reliable and dependable vehicle for following trucks.
  • Cellular phone with charger.
  • Ability to work as early as 6:30 a.m. to as late as 9:00 p.m., seven days a week during response periods (12–14 hours per day).
  • Able to work up to 75–80 hours per week as needed, including weekends.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior debris monitoring experience preferred.
