Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of BCHP’s strategic plan, priorities, and annual goals.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators for BCHP performance, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Identify, evaluate, and advance opportunities for program growth (new programs, modalities, partnerships, market expansion) in alignment with university strategy, accreditation requirements, and capacity.
- Affirm academic quality and consistency across BCHP programs through curriculum planning, review, and continuous improvement processes.
- Promote excellence in teaching, scholarship, and engagement consistent with the mission of Trine University.
- Oversee outcomes assessment processes and ensure results are used to improve student learning and program effectiveness.
- Support high-quality and hands-on experiences where applicable (e.g., labs, simulations, clinical placements) in collaboration with Program Directors and appropriate university offices.
- Manage and monitor BCHP budgets; provide forecasting and resource planning aligned with strategic priorities.
- Allocate resources to support program quality, student success, and growth; identify opportunities for operational efficiencies while maintaining academic standards.
- Partner with the Vice President for Enrollment Management and associated Enrollment/Marketing teams to support recruitment success for BCHP programs.
- Ensure BCHP is prepared to meet enrollment targets by aligning resources, staffing plans, schedules, labs/clinical capacity, and student support services with projected enrollment.
- Collaborate with Program Directors to strengthen applicant-to-enrollment conversion by supporting program-level engagement (e.g., events, information sessions, faculty involvement, and communication plans) as appropriate.
- Maintain retention, progression, and completion across BCHP; lead and support interventions to strengthen student success and support.
- Provide leadership and direction to the Director of Student Success to align student support services with BCHP needs and outcomes expectations.
- Promote graduate outcomes and career readiness, including placement efforts where applicable.
- Provide leadership and oversight for specialized accreditation activities across BCHP programs, ensuring continuous readiness, timely reporting, and successful outcomes.
- Directly supervise the Director of BCHP Accreditation and Compliance and ensure college-wide coordination of accreditation calendars, documentation, reporting, and internal accountability.
- Ensure compliance with applicable institutional, programmatic, and regulatory requirements (including clinical compliance expectations where relevant), and proactively manage academic and operational risk.
- Provide direct supervision, coaching, evaluation, and professional development for BCHP academic Program Directors and other direct reports.
- Lead faculty and staff recruitment in coordination with Program Directors and university processes; recommend appointment of academic personnel.
- Foster a high-performing culture grounded in collaboration, accountability, student-centered decision-making, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure effective internal communication and coordination across BCHP programs and support units.
- Serve as chief ambassador for BCHP to clinical partners, employers, community organizations, alumni, and other external stakeholders.
- Support marketing and public relations efforts by providing program-level insights, outcomes, and success stories; participate in events and outreach activities as appropriate.
- Collaborate with the Office of Alumni and Development to support fundraising priorities and donor engagement aligned with BCHP needs (e.g., scholarships, labs, equipment, strategic initiatives).
- Support grant development and provide oversight for BCHP-related grant activities in coordination with appropriate university offices.
- Represent BCHP in university governance, including participation in Academic Councils and other committees as assigned; contribute to academic planning and policy discussions.
- The Dean is expected to teach 3 credit hours every 12-month academic year, based on college needs and in coordination with the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Qualifications/Required Education
- A Master’s degree is required with 2–4 years of experience in healthcare and higher education administration.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a master’s degree in a discipline relevant to the Brooks College of Health Professions.
- An earned doctorate in a healthcare, education, leadership, or related discipline is preferred.
- Candidates should demonstrate progressive leadership experience in academic administration, strategic planning, accreditation oversight, budget management, and student success initiatives within higher education and/or healthcare-related environments.
