Dealership Automotive Technician - North Central Ford

Pay

Hourly pay range: $30–$55 per hour (depending on experience and certifications). Tenure Bonus program begins at 6 months from hire date, offering up to $3.50 per flat-rate hour.

Responsibilities

  • Receive repair orders from dispatcher and take to stall area
  • Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
  • Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair
  • Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts
  • Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or requested by the customer
  • Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required
  • Notify service advisor immediately if additional work is not needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time
  • Document all work performed
  • Road-test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician (customer vehicles are not to be used for personal errands)
  • Supervise work of any apprentice technicians as assigned
  • Attend factory-sponsored training classes and keep abreast of technical bulletins
  • Ensure customers’ cars are kept clean and shop area is neat
  • Account for all dealership-owned tools at all times
  • Follow federal, state, and local regulations, including disposal of hazardous wastes
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures; report accidents immediately

Requirements

  • High CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) is a must
  • ASE certification or manufacturing training
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • 2–3 years of automotive technician experience
  • Preferred experience in performing warranty and customer-pay work
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ford brand experience preferred
  • Manual dexterity and good judgment
  • Authorization to work in the USA
  • Ability to pass pre-employment testing, including background checks, MVR, drug test, and valid driver license
