About the role

Diamond Jo Casino is offering an exciting opportunity to begin a career in the casino industry through its upcoming Dealer School. This program trains candidates to become Table Games Dealers, with competitive wages averaging $25+ per hour (including tips). A $1,500 sign-on bonus is available, paid in installments: $500 on day 1 of employment, $500 at 6 months, and $500 at 12 months.

Dealer School is generally 3+ weeks long, held Monday through Thursday, with schedules based on candidate availability. While the classes are unpaid, there may be opportunities to work in other departments during the school if needed.

Responsibilities

• Attend all Dealer School classes to learn how to deal Blackjack.
• Perform basic mathematical functions and calculate payouts mentally with speed and accuracy.
• Stand for extended periods while dealing games in a loud, smoky environment with flashing lights.
• Interact with guests and maintain a fun, engaging atmosphere.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age with reliable transportation.
• No prior experience necessary, but flexibility in scheduling is a plus.
• Must pass a timed, basic math test (addition, subtraction, multiplication).
• Must obtain and maintain an Iowa Gaming License.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as grasping, reaching, and bending.
• Must have the ability to see, hear, and speak English clearly.
• Must thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and be excited to work with a winning team.
