About the role
The Associate Business Development Officer plays a crucial role in driving new-to-bank business development for Santander Dealer Commercial Services. This position involves building and maintaining relationships, coordinating loan proposals, and delivering exceptional client experiences.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate relationships through internal and external networking, direct prospecting, and strategic referral partnerships.
- Represent Santander professionally at industry events, networking functions, and client meetings to expand market presence and generate business opportunities.
- Partner with Credit teams and Senior Business Development Officers to coordinate loan proposals, underwriting activities, and deal execution for prospective clients.
- Prepare clear and concise deal briefing memoranda to support lending opportunities and internal decision-making.
- Engage cross-functional business partners to identify and deliver appropriate cross-sell solutions that meet client needs.
- Maintain an organized and up-to-date database of prospects, referral sources, and business development activities.
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned clients, partnering closely with Portfolio Managers to support ongoing client satisfaction and business growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education.
- 5+ years of lending, business development, commercial banking, or related new business calling experience.

- Relationship management, client acquisition, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to coordinate complex initiatives across multiple internal stakeholders.
- Strong financial analysis and proficiency with financial calculations.

- Excellent presentation, public speaking, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

- Ability to travel within the assigned territory as required.
- Self-motivated, sales-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote environment.

Pay
The base pay range for this position is $93,750.00 USD to $160,000.00 USD annually.
