Qualifications
- Knowledge of deaf-blindness and its impact on learning
- Ability to communicate effectively with deaf-blind students and their families
- Experience working with special education students
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Skills
- Intervener skills
- Communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current certification as an intervener from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid
Responsibilities
- Provide intervener services to deaf-blind students
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized educational plans
- Assist students with accessing educational materials and resources
- Monitor student progress and report to teachers and parents
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance intervener skills
