The client offers the opportunity to work on real-world, production-critical automation systems that directly impact mill operations.
This role is hands-on and customer-facing, involving DCS configuration, upgrades, troubleshooting, and commissioning across multiple mill sites.
You’ll work closely with operators, engineers, and maintenance teams to modernize legacy systems, improve reliability, and reduce downtime.
The environment rewards technical depth, autonomy, and problem-solving, and is ideal for engineers who enjoy being close to the process—not just writing code from a desk.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop DCS programming solutions for process control and automation in the Pulp & Paper sector.
- Implement and configure Foxboro, DeltaV systems to meet project specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate DCS with other plant systems.
- Conduct system testing and validation to ensure proper functioning and adherence to safety protocols.
- Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in DCS technology and apply best practices in system programming.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in DCS programming with preference in the Pulp & Paper industry.
- Proficiency with Foxboro.
- Proficiency with DeltaV control systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Likely to be legally entitled to work in the US.
- Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites (typically 5-20%)

$110K - $140K + 10% bonus
