About the role

The DCS Installation Assessment Engineer position is available in Emerson's North America Power Projects Proposals organization. The ideal candidate will lead EPC proposal support for full scope Ovation DCS projects in the power industry.

Responsibilities

  • Work with proposal offer owners and sales to understand project scope and supply chain to pre-qualify contractors.
  • Support site walkdowns with potential vendors to obtain competitive bids for the scope of work required by the customer specification.
  • Create Scope of Work (SOW) documents based on industry knowledge, walkdowns, and input from the proposal offer owner.
  • Evaluate vendor quotes for accuracy and work with the project teams to develop optimized outage plans and schedules.
  • Drive consistency and accuracy in the sub-contractor bidding process to improve project cost estimates while minimizing technical risk.
  • Manage relationships with existing sub-contractors and foster relationships with future potential sub-contractors to ensure best cost pricing and a cohesive approach to projects while optimizing the EPC proposal process.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10 years of relevant experience in either electrical or mechanical installation with emphasis in control systems and/or process operation.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of control systems such as PLC, DCS, or SCADA.
  • Familiarity with the Emerson Ovation™ platform, including space, power, and grounding considerations.
  • Understanding of project labor requirements, subcontractor coordination, or field installation practices.

Skills

  • Ability to develop best cost and technically compliant solutions to meet customer’s needs.
  • Experience in EPC proposal support for Ovation DCS projects in the power industry.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage relationships with sub-contractors and vendors.

Benefits

At Emerson, we offer competitive salaries ranging from $145,000 - $160,000 commensurate with skills, talent, capabilities, and experience. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), tuition reimbursement, and more.

Pay

$145,000 - $160,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Full-time position with occasional travel required (30-50%).
