About the role
This role supports DCL’s import and export activities within the Trade Operations team under Trade Management, part of Disney’s Parks Product Development and Retail division. The position focuses on ensuring compliance with all applicable customs and international trade regulations across global shipping transactions particularly new ships are built operations and loading and off-loading merchandise and provisions from the ship’s itinerary.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Customs Specialists to prioritize and complete import and export tariff classification and ECCN requests.
- Ensure tariff classifications and ECCN determinations are accurate, well-documented, and fully justified.
- Participate in product classification sessions and operational meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Evaluate and improve workflows and operating procedures; develop solutions and deliver process-related training.
- Support efforts on new ships build operations, monitor import/export operations, including Restricted Party Screening (RPS), with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Review post-classification and customs entry filings to provide guidance and corrective actions.
- Support Customs Export Specialists in resolving clearance-related issues.
- Contribute to setting objectives within the assigned area of responsibility, with work reviewed against organizational goals and timelines.
- Aid Manager with the creation of Metrics-KPI’s for periodic reporting.
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of import and export tariff classification, particularly for general merchandise, industrial and mechanical marine equipment, construction materials, and food-related equipment.
- Strong expertise in ECCN designation and Restricted Party Screening.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, resilient, and results-driven.
- Cruise line industry experience is a plus.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent coursework in international trade.
- CES or Master Export Specialist (MES) certification preferred.
- Certified Import Specialist (CIS) preferred.
- 5–10 years of experience in export operations.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
