DC Route Driver

About the Role

Operate a class 8 tractor-trailer providing safe, timely, and accurate route deliveries to store locations as part of our company fleet.

Schedule & Compensation

• Home Daily
• 5 Day Work Week
• No Weekends
• Overnight Route Delivery with Dedicated Routes
• Low Touch Freight using full pallet deliveries
• Modern Fleet of Tractors and Trailers
• Compensation Pay Range: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour (actual hourly rate will equal or exceed required minimum wage applicable to job location)
• Additional compensation may include annual, quarterly performance, or premiums paid in amounts ranging per hour in specific circumstances (premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed; multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met)
• Potential first year earnings of $88,530.00 based upon average route hours; actual annual earnings may vary based upon length of route
• Salary package includes safety incentives, driver bonuses and performance-based raises

Essential Job Functions

• Operate a commercial Class 8 tractor-trailer to complete safe, timely, and accurate route deliveries in compliance with DOT and company regulations
• Utilize electric pallet jacks and lift gates to load, unload, and deliver merchandise to designated store locations
• Follow assigned routes, stops, and schedules to ensure efficient deliveries within set timeframes
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain Hours of Service (HOS) logs, and comply with FMCSA regulations
• Secure all loads, vehicle doors, and alarms before and after each stop; ensure proper delivery verification and manage returned merchandise
• Assist with various delivery routes as needed to support operational requirements

Requirements & Qualifications

• Working knowledge of DOT regulations, logbook, and vehicle inspections
• Maintain a clean MVR and a valid DOT physical status
• Must pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol tests
• Must possess a current Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement
• Must maintain the ability to work flexible hours
