About the role
Assist the DC manager to oversee all aspects of a single distribution center, including the service, physical assets, operating costs, and team members.
Responsibilities
- Ensure day-to-day compliance with company operations, policies and procedures.
- Maintain payroll, budgeting, inventory integrity, productivity, etc.
- Provide training, guidance, and counseling as needed to each DC team member.
- Manage a staff of 1-15 supervisors, and up to 300 hourly team members.
- Establish annual goals and plans, and support team members and others as needed for effective recruiting, hiring, and training.
- On-time evaluations of all team members.
- Prepare and manage annual operating budget.
- Monitor and coordinate expenditures within the department, and obtain approval on any expenditure exceeding $1,000.
- Aggressively manage all risk and risk-related costs to provide a safe working environment.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent (GED)
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Above average computer skills
- 2+ years’ experience as a distribution center supervisor with proven record of success
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple departments within one center
- Desired college degree or logistics certification
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
