DC Learning Lead

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Training Coordination
  • Coordinate daily training activities and trainer assignments.
  • Communicate training priorities and schedule changes.
  • Serve as the day-to-day resource for Department Trainers.
  • Provide coaching on training methods, documentation, and standards.
  • Observe trainers and provide constructive feedback.
  • Assist with trainer qualification and certification activities.
  • Escalate trainer performance or coverage concerns to the Learning Coordinator.
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready training records.
  • Follow up on missing documentation and overdue training.

New Hire & Skills Training

  • Monitor new hire progress against established milestones.
  • Support skills assessments and qualification activities.
  • Maintain department skills matrices and certification information.
  • Support cross-training and retraining initiatives.
  • Communicate performance or training gaps to the Learning Coordinator and Operations.

LMS & Documentation

  • Enter and maintain training completion information in the LMS.
  • Maintain attendance, certification, and qualification records.
  • Review records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Follow up on missing documentation and overdue training.

Training Standards & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure trainers have current SOPs, work instructions, and job aids.
  • Reinforce Standard Work, safety, quality, and compliance expectations.
  • Identify outdated materials or recurring training gaps.
  • Gather feedback from associates and trainers.
  • Participate in training and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Education & Experience

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • An associate degree or additional education is preferred.
  • Two to three years of experience in manufacturing, distribution, operations, training, or a related environment is preferred.
  • Previous Trainer, Department Trainer, Team Lead, or similar experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and coach associates is required.
  • LMS experience is preferred.

  • Strong coaching and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • The ability to influence and provide direction without formal supervisory authority is important.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills are necessary.
  • A strong organization and attention to detail are required.
  • The ability to manage multiple training priorities is crucial.
  • The ability to identify training and performance gaps is important.
  • Basic Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365 skills are needed.
  • The ability to learn and use LMS and other training systems is required.
  • A strong commitment to safety, quality, and associate development is essential.

Physical Requirements

  • The ability to work throughout an operational environment is required.
  • The ability to stand and walk for extended periods is required.
  • The ability to conduct and observe hands-on training is required.
  • The ability to support assigned shift requirements is required.
  • The ability to occasionally lift training materials/equipment up to 25 pounds is required.
