DC Inventory Control Clerk - 1st Shift

About the role

The DC Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy throughout the Distribution Center by conducting cycle counts, researching inventory discrepancies, processing inventory transactions, and supporting shipping and receiving activities. This role works closely with warehouse associates, office staff, and leadership to ensure inventory integrity across both ERP and Warehouse Management Systems while helping support efficient order fulfillment and customer service operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cycle counts according to established cycle count plans, including count preparation, execution, research, and documentation.
  • Accurately count, research, reconcile, and record inventory transactions.
  • Communicate inventory updates, discrepancies, and concerns to management and team members.
  • Assist with physical inventory planning, training, and execution.
  • Research and resolve inventory issues in collaboration with warehouse and office personnel.
  • Train associates on inventory control processes and best practices.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy between ERP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Receive and process inbound receipts.
  • Slot new products and help maintain efficient warehouse pick paths.
  • Process product returns and inventory adjustments.
  • Prepare customer-specific pre-ticketing requirements and audit associated inventory conversions.
  • Support outbound order processing, including staging, wrapping, loading, and shipment preparation.
  • Route customer shipments, prepare shipping documentation, and process outbound shipments.
  • Assist with additional inventory, warehouse, and distribution center duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, or a related field.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse forklifts or obtain required certification.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to train and assist warehouse associates with inventory-related processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement skills.
  • Knowledge of inventory control functions, warehouse operations, shipping processes, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, reaching, grasping, pushing, and pulling throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work safely around warehouse equipment, forklifts, conveyors, and distribution center operations.
