DC Custodian

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping and janitorial duties in all areas of the distribution center.
• Communicate custodial or housekeeping issues to maintenance supervisor, assistant maintenance supervisor, or DC management team.
• Perform maintenance duties for outside grounds of distribution center buildings.
• Empty trash containers, cardboard containers, and sweep all floor areas of the distribution center.
• Operate floor scrubbing equipment and cardboard baler.
• Maintain all stations containing janitorial equipment such as brooms, dust mops, wet mops, and mop buckets.
• Assist maintenance team in maintaining and organizing the tote repair area.
• Maintain supplies of paper products and hand cleaner in all restrooms and break room areas.
• Assist the maintenance department in maintaining building grounds such as snow removal, lawn mowing, and trash collection.
• Assist the maintenance team with general maintenance duties as required.
• Maintain safety standards while operating equipment and identify unsafe practices and situations.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 1+ years’ experience in custodial duties in a building, hotel, or distribution center.
• Ability to multitask and work well in a team environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
• Basic knowledge of grounds keeping (e.g., lawn mowing, weeding, trimming) and facility maintenance and equipment.
• Basic experience in operating lawn mowers, weed trimmers, etc.
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired).
