This is a remote opportunity suitable for an experienced claims professional with expertise in workers' compensation and international injury claims administration. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the administration and management of Defense Base Act (DBA) and maritime injury and illness claims.
- Collaborating with claims leadership, occupational health teams, HR, legal departments, and insurance partners to coordinate claims activities and case management strategies.
- Participating in claims investigations and assisting in developing action plans for complex cases.
- Preparing, reviewing, and distributing claim-related documentation, including reports, correspondence, forms, and regulatory submissions.
- Establishing and maintaining claims records within claims management systems, ensuring data accuracy and timely updates.
- Reviewing claim submissions, verifying information, and determining appropriate policy coverage related to reported incidents.
- Processing incoming communications and providing administrative support through filing, documentation management, and record maintenance.
- Contributing to organizational injury management programs and supporting continuous improvement initiatives related to claims administration.
Requirements
- A high school diploma is required; an associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Typically 3-5 years of workers' compensation claims experience, with Defense Base Act (DBA) experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of claims administration processes, insurance reporting requirements, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Experience working with third-party administrators, claims adjusters, and insurance partners.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, risk management software, or other claims management platforms is preferred.
- Strong administrative, organizational, and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and adapt to changing processes and priorities.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
