About the role

Potbelly Sandwich Shop is seeking friendly and outgoing individuals to join our team. We are a nationwide chain known for our toasty sandwiches and positive work culture.

Responsibilities

• Help customers enjoy lunch by providing fast, friendly, and efficient service
• Prepare and deliver high-quality sandwiches, salads, soups, and other menu items
• Manage multiple stations, including loading, dressing, shakes, cash, prep, and front service
• Restock food lines, chips, and coolers
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen, and utensils; dispose of trash
• Operate cash registers, handle, balance, and follow cash handling procedures
• Handle and resolve customer complaints and issues
• Take delivery, catering, and pickup orders over the phone
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• At least 16 years old
• A friendly, customer-first mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, energetic environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working in a bustling kitchen environment (knife skills are a big plus)
• Ability to manage potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish
• Team player
• Able to stand/walk a minimum of 3 hours or as needed
• Able to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally

Qualifications

• Illinois applicants must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment

Pay

$13.75 to $14.25 per hour plus digital tips*

Schedule

Morning and day shifts ranging from 8am-4pm. Availability within this window is required.
