About the role
A Potbelly Associate is the primary point of customer contact, responsible for providing an excellent experience through fast, friendly, and efficient service. You’ll deliver consistent, high-quality products in a clean and welcoming environment while working across multiple stations as directed by leadership.
Pay
Earn between $12.75 and $13.25 per hour plus digital tips.
Schedule
Morning and day shifts ranging from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Availability within this window is required, though you don’t need to be available for the entire duration.

Responsibilities
- Work multiple stations (load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, front) as directed by a Shift Leader or Manager
- Comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness, and safety
- Restock food line, chips, and cooler
- Prepare quality finished products (sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream, etc.) efficiently
- Use the automatic slicer to prep food items (if 18 or older)
- Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen, and utensils; take out trash
- Operate cash register, handle and balance cash, and follow all cash handling procedures
- Effectively handle customer complaints and issues
- Take delivery, catering, and pickup orders over the phone
- Manage potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, and shellfish
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- At least 16 years of age
- Friendly, customer-first mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, energetic environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working in a bustling kitchen environment (knife skills are a plus)
- Able to stand/walk a minimum of 3 hours or as needed
- Able to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Team player attitude
