Daycare Teacher with Experience

About the role

The ideal candidate for this role is a highly skilled and dedicated early childhood educator who can lead a teaching team and create a safe and stimulating learning environment for children. They should be able to develop and implement curriculum, manage classroom operations, and communicate effectively with parents and staff. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of child development, excellent leadership and organizational skills, and the ability to foster a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement curriculum by designing age-appropriate activities that engage children and promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating effective teaching practices and supporting staff members to achieve their full potential.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment by planning engaging activities and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized space.
  • Maintain open communication with parents through regular discussions, progress updates, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with center policies, state regulations, and relevant standards.
  • Supervise and support teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure they are following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records, forms, and files.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices by maintaining a personal professional development plan.

Requirements

  • Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
  • Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience.
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • Must include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
