Daycare Teacher (Early Childhood Educator)

About the role

La Mere Academy is a licensed childcare center dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for infants, toddlers, and preschool-age children. We are seeking a passionate Daycare Teacher / Early Childhood Educator who is committed to supporting children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and educational activities.
• Support children's social, emotional, language, and cognitive development.
• Maintain positive classroom management and behavior guidance practices.
• Conduct daily observations and document children's developmental progress.
• Assist with feeding, diapering, potty training, and other daily care routines as needed.
• Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and health and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and team members.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Participate in staff meetings, training programs, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in childcare, daycare, preschool, or early childhood education.
• Passion for working with infants, toddlers, and preschool-age children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively engage with children throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential.
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
• CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Experience with preschool curriculum planning and child assessments.
• Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
