Daycare Provider

Job Responsibilities

• Plans and develops age-appropriate curriculum
• Organizes and participates in games
• Reads to children
• Teaches simple painting, drawing, handwork, songs, and similar activities
• Alternates periods of strenuous activity with periods of rest or light activity
• Instructs children in practices of personal cleanliness and self-care
• Helps children become responsible in caring for their own clothing and picking up and putting away toys and books
• Redirects children and recommends or initiates other measures to control behavior according to state and Smoky Valley Child Care guidelines
• Serves meals and snacks to children and regulates rest periods
• Helps train new employees
• Washes dishes and assists teachers in cleaning dining areas
• Responsible for cleanliness of kitchen and storage areas
• Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above
• Helps close the daycare at the end of the night following the closing duties and procedures

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

• Able to plan individual and group activities to stimulate growth in language, social, and motor skills
• Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality with respect to children
• Work independently and exercise good judgment when carrying out duties
• Must be able to complete Child Care Licensing required trainings online
• Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills
• Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software
• Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management
• Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills
• Able to be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis

• Have a strong commitment to safe working practices
• Wears Personal Protective Equipment at all times while in the production environment
• Is alert and observes, corrects, and reports unsafe conditions
• Follows operating procedures and complies with all regulatory requirements

Reporting Relationships

This position reports to the Daycare Supervisor.
