Schedule
- Monday - Friday, 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. (includes one 15-minute paid break)
- 17.5 hours per week
- Work calendar: 2026-27 PSE School Days Extended Daycare
Pay
$27.36 - $31.97 per hour (2026-27 PSE Salary Schedule)
About the Role
Provides daycare, ensuring the safety and welfare of children 1-6 years of age. The daycare lead will assist parents by preparing meals for children, maintaining their hygiene, monitoring them for health, behavioral, and emotional concerns, providing them with age-appropriate instruction, and working with parents to ensure that children are learning and socializing in a positive way. Additional duties may include sterilizing toys and play areas to maintain a safe, engaging, and clean environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and welfare of children aged 1-6
- Prepare meals for children
- Maintain children’s hygiene
- Monitor children for health, behavioral, and emotional concerns
- Provide age-appropriate instruction
- Collaborate with parents to support children’s learning and socialization
- Sterilize toys and play areas
Requirements
- At least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent
- Obtain the Washington State ECE Certificate or equivalent by 2026, or within 5 years of hire, whichever is later
- Food handler’s permit, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Valid First Aid/CPR card or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire

Benefits eligibility is determined by the number of hours worked during the school year (September 1 through August 31). Employees scheduled to work 630 hours or more, including substitute work, are eligible.
