What You’ll Do

• Responsible for cooking, baking, and food preparation
• Ensure safe food storage and disposal, including maintaining temperature logs
• Cook is responsible for preparing meals and snacks for children with special dietary needs
• Maintain children’s allergy list regularly
• Weekly ordering and receiving all food supplies and replenishing dishware and cookware
• Complies with all health regulations and the company’s best practices
• Upkeep kitchen cleaning schedule, including dishwashing, daily, weekly, and monthly duties
• Occasionally required to prepare food for field trips, school-age programs, and community events
• Step in to relieve staff for lunch and/or other breaks from their classroom
• Supervise activities when covering in the classroom and ensure safety at all times

Who You Are

• Required : High School diploma/GED equivalency required
• Valid driver's license and a clean driver’s abstract
• Current Food Handler Certification or willing to get
• Clear background checks and up-to-date health assessments
• Ability to push, pull and lift to 45 pounds
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to take initiative and problem-solve effectively
• PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: working with vulnerable populations, experience working with children
