Day Warehouse Manager
About the role
The Manager, Warehouse position at US Foods is responsible for managing warehouse operations, ensuring safety, and driving efficiency through the associates they lead.
Responsibilities
- Lead with a safety mindset to ensure all associates remain injury free.
- Oversee and develop warehouse associates through coaching, training, and problem resolution.
- Create a cohesive organization by maintaining open communication and directing workflow.
- Direct and supervise warehouse associates to achieve accurate orders and prepare for shipping or receiving.
- Maintain warehouse conditions and equipment, and monitor inventory levels.
- Analyze operations to improve cost control and make recommendations.
- Inspect facilities for safety hazards and take appropriate actions.
- Manage dock locations for inbound carriers and ensure proper product placement.
- Schedule working shifts using appropriate planning tools.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of experience in warehouse distribution.
- Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce.
- Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods, and procedures.
- Strong leadership, communication, and people development skills.
- Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, HACCP, and other regulatory requirements.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Travel: 10% required, typically for meetings and training.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- College degree preferred.
- HACCP certification and PCQI certification preferred.
Skills
- Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods, and procedures.
- Strong leadership, communication, and people development skills.
- Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, HACCP, and other regulatory requirements.
- Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).

Pay
Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state or local minimum wage thresholds).
Schedule
The role may require occasional standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 10 lbs, carrying up to 10 lbs, pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs, climbing/balancing, stooping/squatting, kneeling, bending, reaching above shoulder, twisting, grasping objects, manipulating objects, and manual dexterity.
