Day Warehouse Manager

About the role

The Manager, Warehouse position at US Foods is responsible for managing warehouse operations, ensuring safety, and driving efficiency through the associates they lead.

Responsibilities

• Lead with a safety mindset to ensure all associates remain injury free.
• Oversee and develop warehouse associates through coaching, training, and problem resolution.
• Create a cohesive organization by maintaining open communication and directing workflow.
• Direct and supervise warehouse associates to achieve accurate orders and prepare for shipping or receiving.
• Maintain warehouse conditions and equipment, and monitor inventory levels.
• Analyze operations to improve cost control and make recommendations.
• Inspect facilities for safety hazards and take appropriate actions.
• Manage dock locations for inbound carriers and ensure proper product placement.
• Schedule working shifts using appropriate planning tools.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of experience in warehouse distribution.
• Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce.
• Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods, and procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication, and people development skills.
• Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, HACCP, and other regulatory requirements.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Travel: 10% required, typically for meetings and training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• College degree preferred.
• HACCP certification and PCQI certification preferred.

Skills

• Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods, and procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication, and people development skills.
• Familiarity with inventory control, OSHA, HACCP, and other regulatory requirements.
• Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).

Pay

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state or local minimum wage thresholds).

Schedule

The role may require occasional standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 10 lbs, carrying up to 10 lbs, pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs, climbing/balancing, stooping/squatting, kneeling, bending, reaching above shoulder, twisting, grasping objects, manipulating objects, and manual dexterity.
