About the role

A Daytime Warehouse Associate is a highly physical role focused on offloading trucks, verifying inbound products against purchase orders, and accurately recording and storing items in the warehouse. Associates may also pick, prepare, and pack orders for delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the receiving dock for incoming orders and maintain a clean and orderly workspace.
  • Unload trucks and check in merchandise; track and monitor all inbound product for the day.
  • Break down Purchase Orders (PO) by item on separate pallets and verify product and quantities.
  • Compare packing lists to received product; note discrepancies and inform the Operations Supervisor or VP of Operations.
  • Confirm totals by pallet/cases when moving product from dock status to reserve location.
  • Use pump pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, sit-down and stand-up hi-lo forklifts, and safety ladders to stock product on warehouse shelves.
  • Fill out pre- and post-trip sheets for forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Communicate daily with department representatives regarding inventory and incoming shipments.
  • Maintain an orderly flow of product through the warehouse for accurate and efficient movement.
  • Prepare orders by processing requests, pulling materials, packing boxes, and placing orders in the delivery area.
  • Prepare parcels for mailing and pick up damaged items for assessment and repackaging.
  • Place odd or misplaced cases in the correct pick location.
  • Fill pick slots using the right block and tier, avoid overfilling, store additional product in reserve slots, and level pick slots during the day.
  • Record all moves in the RF gun.
  • Take initiative to accomplish open tasks and seek additional work when available.
  • Complete and pass safety training at hire and annually; comply with safety practices and procedures.
  • Report safety concerns to the VP of Operations and observe rules regarding no cell phone use in the warehouse.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet areas, and workstations neat; sweep, dust, and mop as needed.
  • Maintain positive work relations, support teamwork, and assist coworkers.
  • Listen and communicate respectfully with employees at all levels and outside vendors.
  • Maintain regular attendance and follow call-out and time-off procedures as outlined in the handbook.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior work experience in a warehouse setting or as a receiver.
  • Knowledge of inventory processes.
  • Experience with forklifts, pallet jacks, and RF scanners.

This job operates in a warehouse environment and routinely uses equipment such as sit-down and stand-up hi-lo forklifts, pump and electric pallet jacks, ladders, and RF scanner guns.

Schedule

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with assigned start and end times between 6:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Hours are forty (40) or more per week, with occasional longer hours as needed for workload or project deadlines.

Driving is not required, but associates may occasionally accompany a Driver on a delivery to assist with unloading.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch, balance, and use hands to handle devices or phones.
  • Frequently required to lift/carry 25-50 pounds safely from floor to waist height and from waist to shoulders; occasionally lift/carry over 50 pounds.
  • Frequently required to push/pull items from 25-50 pounds; occasionally push/pull over 50 pounds.
