CareGivers in Schenectady NY is looking for a Personal Care Aide.

About the role

CareGivers is a licensed home care agency with 12 branches in Upstate New York and Western Pennsylvania. We provide quality, compassionate home care services and are always seeking positive and skilled professionals to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to clients, ensuring they feel clean and refreshed.
• Learn and prepare simple meals for clients.
• Tidy clients' homes to promote health and safety.
• Ensure clients follow their medication schedules.
• Other care may be needed to keep clients safe.

Requirements

• Must be a certified PCA*, HHA, or CNA.
• Will transition CNA to HHA with a free one-day class.
• Qualified nursing students can work as HHA’s – ask us how!
• If you have at least 3 months of previous hands-on caregiving experience in the last three years, you may qualify to become a PCA through our free one-day alternative competency training class. Ask us how!
• Must be caring, dependable, and meet health requirements.
• Must have a reliable vehicle and valid driver's license – shopping and running errands for clients is part of the job.
• Must be 18 or older.

Pay

$18.65 / hour

Schedule

Weekday daytime shifts – typically, you would spend 2-3 hours with each client, you may visit up to 4 clients per shift depending on how long your shift is. We would build you a caseload based on your availability. Sometimes we have longer shift casework – but it’s not the norm.
