Day Program DSP

About the role

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) functions as an advocate, supporter, educator, and caregiver to individuals with disabilities. You will assist individuals in developing basic living and social skills to gain optimal independence and integration into the community. Responsibilities may include:

• Living skills development
• Health maintenance and medication administration
• Personal care and behavioral development/management
• Leading activities, socializing, and community events
• Providing personal care assistance for some participants
• Transporting clients in company vehicles to and from the Day Program

This position involves engaging in fun activities such as watching movies, playing games, and participating in community outings.

Requirements

• Compassionate and caring demeanor
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• 19 years or older
• Able to pass a MN DHS Background Study
• Valid Driver’s License, car insurance, and a clean driving record
• Must be able to lift 60 to 70 lbs
• Past experience as a DSP or in a related position preferred
