Day Program Counselor - WOW
About the role
The Center for Disability Services is seeking Direct Support Professionals and a Day Program Counselor for our Without Walls program. We offer a supportive environment where you can make a difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Support and encourage independence in all aspects of daily life.
- Collaborate with your team to plan, create and assist with activities and opportunities to meet the needs and interests of the people you support.
- Provide any necessary direct personal care to the people we support.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- NYS Driver's License in good standing.
- At least 18 years old and capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.
Qualifications
We welcome applicants who are already in the human service field or those looking to start a new career. We offer paid on-the-job training for new hires.
Skills
Passion for making a difference, ability to work independently, and a positive attitude are essential skills for this role.
