Day Program Coordinator

29 Acres is a nonprofit organization that enhances the lives of adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We focus on using research-based practices and programming to make meaningful and measured progress, prioritizing individualized programming and specific goals tailored to the unique needs of our clients.

About the role

The Day Program Coordinator assists the Director of Enrich-Dallas with daily needs, supports Life Skills Coaches, and provides life skills training to day program students. This role involves planning activities, managing operational and behavioral responsibilities, and fostering a positive, inclusive culture for clients and staff.

This position is located at our non-residential Day Program Hub in North Dallas, off Highway 635. The role is full-time, exempt, with a starting salary of $50,000 per year.

Responsibilities

• Provide life skills training to assist students in planning activities, vocational training, daily life skills, budgeting, cooking, social programs, and other initiatives.
• Attend weekly meetings with Life Skills Coaches and BCBAs for updates and collaboration.
• Support volunteer opportunities by discovering and securing additional placements.
• Collect data and observe students’ behavior as directed by their plans.
• Ensure safety and welfare of clients, including assisting with medication, administering CPR/first aid, and serving as a client advocate.
• Engage in frequent parent communication, including weekly texts and team meetings.
• Assist the Director of Enrich-Dallas with intake and trial day needs.
• Create quarterly progress reports for clients.
• Manage 30-60-90-day training, annual reviews, 1:1 staff coaching, disciplinary meetings, and fill in for staff call-outs as needed.
• Approve payroll time, track receipts, and manage vehicle keys.
• Participate in weekly meetings with the Director of Enrich for updates and collaboration.
• Plan theme days with crossroads coordinators.
• Create at least 2 activities per month for Dallas/Denton/Crossroads clients.
• Facilitate once-a-week club days in Dallas for Dallas/Denton/Crossroads clients.
• Assist the Director of Enrich in Paycor scheduling for all Day Program staff.
• Create and facilitate Club 29 in Dallas, including conducting 10-minute parent interviews for new members.
• Provide coverage and be available for occasional pick-up on-call weekends.
• Update client Slack channels monthly or as needed.
• Create and post daily client activity schedules.
• Choose and present "Client of the Week."
• Facilitate safety training days as directed by the Director of Enrich-Dallas.
• Assist with maintenance of vehicles.
• Provide ongoing training for Life Coaches in the community and at the Hub in coordination with the BCBA.
• Cultivate a positive and inclusive culture, promoting teamwork and community.
• Provide leadership and guidance to Life Skills Coaches, fostering professional development.
• Champion a client-centered approach, assisting clients in achieving their goals.
• Maintain a "can do" attitude and collaborate with other professionals.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous learning by training staff in vocational opportunities, life skills, and personal care.
• Collaborate with team members to create engaging daily program schedules and special projects.
• Demonstrate commitment to diversity and inclusion, ensuring all clients and staff feel valued.
• Uphold a culture of safety and well-being during recreational activities.
• Encourage a proactive, solution-oriented mindset among staff.

Requirements

• RBT Certification (Required).
• Completion of company trainings: CPR, First Aid, CPI (Required).
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug test.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments with climate variations.
• Physical ability to respond to situations requiring first aid, CPR, or emergency assistance, including lifting, carrying, or restraining clients if necessary.
• Exposure to potential hazards such as bodily fluids, biting, hitting, or kicking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Preferred).
• Minimum of an associate degree or at least 60 college credit hours (Preferred).
• 2+ years’ experience working with individuals with ASD or intellectual disabilities (Preferred).

Pay

Starting at $50,000 per year.

Schedule

• 40 hours per week.
