About the role
Vinfen is a nonprofit organization providing community-based services to individuals with various disabilities. This position is part of the Day Program, where the candidate will assist in implementing clinical and individual programs.
Responsibilities
- Provides instruction and skill building in areas such as Self Help, Sensorimotor, Communication, Social Development, Independent living, Behavior Development, Affective Development, Vocational Development, and Wellness Development.
- Aids in case management responsibilities, as directed.
- Assists in the development of Individual Service Plans (ISPs) for persons served, including recommendations from professional and para-professional specialists.
- Maintains contact with family members, funding sources, and other staff members, including members of the ISP team.
- Implements clinical and daily plans for persons served.
- Communicates with management regarding treatment and programs for persons served.
- Supports members in crisis management using Positive Behavior Support (PBS) and Safety Care.
- Trains staff, as needed.
- Maintains physical upkeep of the program area.
- Monitors supplies and equipment needed.
- Ensures equipment is used, cleaned, and stored appropriately.
- Notifies managers of any needs identified and works to resolve those.
- Acts as an advocate for persons served in all areas.
- Follows policies and procedures specific to the program and Vinfen.
- Works toward community integration of persons served through various opportunities.
Qualifications
- One year of relevant work experience/training.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Driving is a requirement for this position using either a Vinfen van or personal vehicle.
- Must have a valid US driver's license for at least six months and be able to pass a driver's screening background check.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, lift at least 25 pounds, operate a computer and other office equipment, sit, reach, climb stairs, maneuver through narrow spaces or hallways, assist clients with tasks of daily living, speak, hear, and communicate with clients, staff, and external representatives.
- CPR, First Aid, and Safety Care certifications required within two weeks of hire.
- NET certification required.
