About the role
The Janitor, Day Porter is an on-site, daytime custodian/janitor who maintains commercial property cleanliness and safety during business hours. The Day Porter will perform as needed regular cleaning duties in order to support the mission of the organization.
Responsibilities
- When needed replacement of non-LED light bulbs
- Painting as required
- Regular HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) filter changes
- Collect and deliver parts and tools to work areas
- Clean up job site/work area(s)
- Event Support, setups and cleanup after each event
- Perform quality control (QC) checks throughout customer facilities
- Furniture services, assembling new furniture, moving and/or rearranging furniture as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 1-2 years knowledge/experience of industrial cleaning
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools and maintenance equipment
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, management staff, and peers
- Provide excellent customer service
- Ability to work with persons with disabling conditions
- Strong work ethic, self-starter, problem-solver, and team player
- Ability to understand and follow all Goodwill safety standards and guidelines
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow Goodwill Employee Handbook, departmental manuals, and all numbered or supplemental policies
- Occasional overtime; work varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Must be able to work in various weather conditions with varying temperatures
- Must have the ability to drive for company business
For applicants/employees to qualify for inclusion on the Goodwill driver insurance schedule, for purpose of driving Goodwill fleet vehicles, or for purpose of receiving company mileage reimbursement they must meet the following requirements:
- At least 21 years of age (not engaged in passenger transportation)
- 25 – 70 years of age for all passenger transportation services
- 25 years of age for CDL
- Undergo a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check and background check
- Disclose all moving traffic violations or vehicle crashes (within the last five (5) years)
- Possess a valid Colorado State driver license
- Be able to operate company vehicle and adhere to all Federal, State, and local laws governing vehicle operation
- If using a personal vehicle for company business, must have valid vehicle insurance, valid driver license, and vehicle must be in roadworthy condition
Qualifications
- A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred
