Day Porter, Building Services

About the role

The Day Porter is responsible for assisting with daily facilities operations for Delaware North's corporate headquarters in Buffalo, New York.

Responsibilities

• Restock, clean, and take care of common areas, lobbies, restrooms, break rooms, cafeterias, etc.
• Quickly respond to cleaning crises such as spills, odors, and messes.
• Maintain and service washrooms, ensuring proper hygiene and cleanliness.
• Move tables, boxes, and supplies for corporate events.
• Sort, log, and distribute mail and packages.
• Process outbound mail and assist customers with mail services.
• Explain services and suggest appropriate services to meet customer requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar atmosphere.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written communication.
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages.

Physical requirements

• 1 year of cleaning experience in an office, medical, or personal environment.
• Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs unassisted.
• Stand for long periods of time.
• Basic Microsoft Suite knowledge.
