About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Day Porter to join our team and maintain the cleanliness and operational readiness of our data center facilities. This role is crucial in driving our relationships with hyperscale clients by ensuring a pristine, safe, and well-maintained environment.

Responsibilities

  • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
  • Dust and wash furniture, walls, machines, and equipment; clean ceilings and dust and polish light fixtures, sometimes using ladders.
  • Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas, either manually or by using hand trucks.
  • Remove stains from surfaces such as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
  • Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
  • Clean and vacuum carpeted areas, including the application of spot cleaning treatment.
  • Gather and empty trash.
  • Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
  • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
  • Service, clean, and supply restrooms.
  • Periodically clean overhead vents, dust blinds, and polish wood furniture.
  • Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
  • Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings.
  • Keep janitor’s closet neat and orderly and maintain equipment in good working order.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure no hazards are created.
  • Notify managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operations.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must pass appropriate background checks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Customer Service Experience.
  • 1 year of similar work experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment-related tasks.
  • Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly.
  • Ability to move quickly and efficiently within various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors.
  • Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses.
  • Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables.
  • Ability to work in environments with a wide variety of temperatures inside a facility.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow.
  • Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license for work-related travel, as required.

Pay

The base pay range for this role is $19.00–$21.00 per hour. Final compensation will be determined by job-related factors consistent with applicable law.
