About the role
Join Ohel’s Day Habilitation Program and empower adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to build life skills, achieve greater independence, and actively participate in their communities.
Responsibilities
- Support individuals in achieving their personal goals and living meaningful, self-directed lives
- Lead engaging activities that foster independent living skills, healthy habits, and community participation
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) while promoting dignity, choice, and respect
- Accompany individuals to volunteer sites, recreational outings, and community activities
- Complete documentation and progress notes accurately and on time
- Collaborate with team members, families, and supervisors to provide quality support
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred
- Valid NY or NJ driver's license with the ability to drive a 15-passenger van strongly preferred
- Strong communication and basic computer skills
