Core Responsibilities
- Create, coordinate, and implement daily and weekly activity schedules that reflect individual interests, goals, and program objectives.
- Facilitate community outings and in-program activities that promote engagement, skill development, choice, and inclusion.
- Work collaboratively with the Program Director to identify, develop, and expand therapy-based and therapeutic recreational opportunities for individuals in the program.
- Monitor the completion and progress of individual goals and ensure programming is aligned with each person’s service plan and identified supports.
- Oversee Direct Support Professionals in the documentation and tracking of goal-related data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and direction to staff to support effective implementation of activities, goals, and daily program routines.
- Absorb and provide room coverage and operational support as needed to maintain safe, effective staffing and program flow.
- Support smooth day-to-day program operations by responding to coverage needs, schedule changes, and participant support requirements.
- Promote a safe, respectful, person-centered environment and ensure individuals are actively supported in meaningful activities throughout the day.
- Communicate regularly with the Program Director regarding program needs, goal progress, staffing concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, special education, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities required.
- Prior leadership, program coordination, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate schedules, activities, and staffing needs.
- Ability to document clearly, review data accurately, and support staff in meeting documentation expectations.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with staff, supervisors, individuals served, and interdisciplinary team members.
- A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
