Day Care Coordinator

About the role

This intern position is specifically assigned to support City of Gainesville Parks/Recreation summer program. This is a seasonal position from June to August.

Responsibilities

- Database management - Light office work - Supervise groups of children when necessary - Schedule, attend and evaluate field trips with the camp - Develop lesson plans, daily activities, special events, and class activities - Assist recreation center staff and camp site supervisor in daily recreation activities - Assist with facility management and maintenance - Schedule swim lessons and swim time; attend swimming events with participants

Qualifications

Must be enrolled in an accredited educational institution with at least a 2.0 GPA; and should demonstrate leadership, interpersonal and analytical thinking skills. Concentration in Health and Human Performance, Education, Recreation or other related field of study preferred. A valid State of Florida Driver's License is required upon appointment. Candidates must be First Aid/CPR/AED certified or obtain certification within two weeks of employment.

Notes

Must attend work on a regular basis as required by the terms of the internship. Anticipated work schedule is 40 hours per week, with a flexible schedule.
