Essential Responsibilities
- Supervise an assigned group of youth ages 5-11 on site and on field trips.
- Responsible for the care and well-being of program participants, being aware of and following all safety precautions and procedures, including administering emergency first aid as needed and recording such treatment with proper documentation.
- Responsible for knowing Safe From Harm program guidelines and following them.
- Responsible for adhering to state childcare licensing guidelines, as instructed by supervisors.
- MEDIATE any behavior problems between campers that may arise.
- Responsible for the implementation of program plans as assigned by the Community Center Director or assigned activity leads.
- Willingness to participate and take a leadership role in all planned activities such as Bible study, swimming, group games, crafts, and music and more.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all areas and resources used by the day camp program.
- Conform to the weekly schedule and attend all staff meetings.
- Complete all paperwork and administrative duties as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Education/Experience: High School diploma/GED or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Previous experience working with youth.
- Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Ability to lead and participate in group activities; Ability to complete basic paperwork and documentation accurately; Ability to model positive behavior; Basic knowledge of computer systems; Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office 365 (preferred).
- Certificates And Licenses: Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed; Current First Aid / CPR certification, or ability to be certified within 30 days; Must have and maintain a current valid driver’s license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR).
