About the role
12-month contract position located in Fort Mill, SC (onsite 3 days a week).
Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure integrations on DataPower X2/X3 appliances.
- Develop and maintain DataPower proxy implementations and design frameworks.
- Provide innovative integration solutions and define common standard frameworks.
- Implement security protocols including OAuth 2.0, WS-Security, authentication, authorization, and JWTs.
- Develop and manage DataPower Gateway scripts and XSL transformations.
- Work with protocols, orchestration, mediation, encryption, and related technologies.
- Manage TLS certificates, renewals, and coordinate seamless upgrades across environments.
- Maintain pristine configurations for domains/appliances and collaborate with app teams on API cleanup.
- Perform deep-dive error handling and troubleshooting for APIs, including root cause analysis and production RCA documentation.
- Debug and identify root causes of issues, documenting findings and production tasks.
- Collaborate with multiple application teams to educate and guide secure integration design patterns.
- Administer DataPower, including appliance initialization, setup, and networking.
- Drive initiatives for new Data Center DataPower and WebSphere MQ builds.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Security, Infra Architecture, Scale, EA, App Dev) to define optimal routing patterns across data centers.
- Implement CI/CD DevOps automations using tools like Team City, Octopus, Git Actions, Terraform, and Python.
- Automate SOMA/REST management for code and configuration migrations to higher environments.
- Set up and install IBM WebSphere MQ environments, including failover and high availability configurations.
- Configure and operate DataPower Operations Dashboard (DPOD).
- Debug APIs using monitoring tools such as Dynatrace and SolarWinds.
- Draft strategies, migration plans, runbooks, and knowledge articles using Confluence.
- Apply AI skills to automate DataPower development processes.
Requirements
- Minimum 10+ years of experience with DataPower X2/X3 appliances for secure integrations.
- Strong knowledge of DataPower proxy implementations and design.
- Experience with security implementations (OAuth 2.0, WS-Security, authentication, authorization, JWTs).
- Proficiency in DataPower Gateway scripts and XSL transformations.
- Knowledge of protocols, orchestration, mediation, and encryption.
- Experience with TLS certificates, renewals, and coordination for seamless upgrades.
- Ability to manage and maintain configurations for domains and appliances.
- Advanced debugging and troubleshooting skills for APIs, including root cause analysis.
- Experience working with multiple application teams to guide secure integration design patterns.
- Knowledge of DataPower administration, appliance initialization, setup, and networking.
- Experience driving initiatives for new Data Center DataPower and WebSphere MQ builds.
- Ability to partner with cross-functional teams to define routing patterns across data centers.
- Experience with CI/CD DevOps automations (Team City, Octopus, Git Actions, Terraform, Python).
- Knowledge of SOMA/REST management automations for code/config migrations.
- Experience setting up and installing IBM WebSphere MQ environments, including failover and HA configurations.
- Operational knowledge of DataPower Operations Dashboard (DPOD).
- API debugging skills using tools like Dynatrace and SolarWinds.
- Proficiency in drafting documentation (strategies, migration plans, runbooks, knowledge articles) using Confluence.
- Knowledge of AI skills for automating DataPower development.
