Datacenter Technician

About the role

The Data Center Strategy and Operations team is seeking a Data Center Operations Engineer. In this role, you will manage data center operations to ensure the delivery of projects such as deployments, migrations, moves, and decommissions. You will also maintain the operational lifecycle of data center functions by conducting and executing audits. Working closely with engineering groups and facilities, you will execute infrastructure deployments and support daily operations to drive data center growth and maintain momentum for product development.

Responsibilities

• Execute audits of data centers to ensure uptime by reporting on power and cooling usage.
• Manage inventory of data center operational materials.
• Maintain audits to support space planning and forecasting.
• Build out racks and rack infrastructure to plan for hardware installations and moves.
• Install, maintain, and repair hardware, perform OS mass deployments, and support data center infrastructure to accommodate growth.
• Document assets in a Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tool.
• Provide hardware support for IT assets following incident management and change management workflows.

Requirements

• Experience with Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools.
• 1-3 years of live production data center experience.
• Experience deploying infrastructure such as PDUs, network, storage, and servers.
• Incident management and change management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• DCIM asset management and documentation experience.
• 1-3 years of data center operations-related experience.
• Experience with data center deployments and migrations.
• Experience with Power Distribution Unit (PDU) management.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a Technical IT Certificate, or IT/Data Center Certifications.
