Title: Data Center Technician (Fiber & Structured Cabling) Location: New Albany, Ohio (Onsite Only) Terms: Long Term Contract About The Role We are looking for a hands-on Data Center Technician to deploy, test, and maintain physical network infrastructure across large-scale data center environments. You will install racks and network equipment, run and test fiber and copper cabling, and keep critical systems online through fast, accurate break-fix support. Key Responsibilities Equipment Installation & Deployment Install server racks and network equipment, and connect switchesRoute, manage, and label fiber optic and copper cabling to standardSupport rack moves, upgrades, and decommissioning Network Testing Test new fiber and network circuits using OTDR and optical power metersVerify signal quality and strength against specifications Troubleshooting & Repair Diagnose Layer 1 connectivity issuesReplace faulty cables, optics, and switchesRespond promptly to critical outages Maintenance Perform preventive maintenance, including cleaning and inspecting fiber connectorsInspect cable routing and support new build-outs Safety & Compliance Follow data center safety proceduresUse required PPE and ESD protectionAdhere to lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols Collaboration Work with engineering, facilities, and supply chain teamsKeep tickets updated and provide clear shift handovers Required Qualifications 3-5 years in data center operations, structured cabling, fiber optic installation/testing, or telecom/network infrastructure supportHands-on experience with fiber optics, structured cabling (including Cat6A), rack and stack, testing, and break-fixProficiency with OTDR, power meters, and cable testersStrong physical network (Layer 1) troubleshooting skillsExperience using ticketing systems Preferred Qualifications Experience deploying 50+ racksExposure to liquid-cooled data center racksExperience with barcode scanning and asset trackingBackground in large hyperscale data centersBICSI Installer or Technician certificationOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Physical Requirements Regularly lift 50+ lbsStand and walk for extended periodsWork on ladders and liftsHandle small components in warm data center environments Thank you!
