About the role
AWS is seeking a database specialist Solutions Architect to advise public sector customers on complex database migration and modernization projects. The role involves combining technical expertise with customer-facing consulting skills to architect solutions that drive business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Design and architect end-to-end database solutions for public sector customers
- Lead complex database migration assessments, performance optimization engagements, and architecture reviews
- Provide strategic technical guidance to customers through 1:1 advisory sessions and 1:many enablement workshops
- Drive database service adoption and revenue growth by contributing to go-to-market strategy, creating reusable technical content, and mentoring field Solutions Architects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather customer feedback, influence database service roadmaps, and ensure customer requirements are translated into product enhancements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
Qualifications
- Cloud Technology Certification (Solutions Architecture, Cloud Security Professional, or Cloud DevOps Engineering)
- Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base, and industry verticals
- Experience working with end user or developer communities
- Knowledge of cloud architecture
- Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
Skills
- Deep technical expertise in relational and non-relational database technologies
- Ability to address advanced concepts and feature designs
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills

Pay
Base salary range: $153,600.00 - $207,800.00 USD annually
