Database Specialist

Key Responsibilities / Duties

• Cook up project start-up activities, join project meetings pertinent to the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of data management systems.
• Carry out rigorous data management and bioinformatic analyses.
• Independently design and implement a variety of data collection instruments and workflows in REDCap, including the randomization module, longitudinal project setup, and role-based data access controls.
• Conduct thorough functional testing before database deployment.
• Preside over the database and provide administrative services for the entire project lifecycle.
• Support team leaders, supervisors, or management with the creation and implementation of processes and procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Offer training for study personnel involved in data collection, cleaning, and analysis.
• Aid in developing or creating protocol-specific systems and documents such as process flows, training manuals, and manual of procedures.
• Assist with identifying issues related to operational efficiency and share results with leadership.
• Act as a subject matter expert and authority in the area of REDCap data management system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of REDCap development experience.
• A Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
• Four (4) years of REDCap development experience is preferred.
