We are seeking a Database Administrator / Software Developer to support a federal program focused on bridge inspection systems and mission-critical infrastructure data. This role will develop and maintain enterprise applications and databases supporting the Federal Lands Highway Division. This position is onsite in Ashburn, VA.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain web and Windows-based applications supporting bridge inspection data.
- Design, administer, and optimize SQL Server, Oracle, and Microsoft Access databases.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and database packages.
- Perform database migrations, backup/recovery, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Develop reports and data visualizations using Crystal Reports, Power BI, and GIS tools.
- Troubleshoot application and database issues while maintaining federal security and engineering standards.
- Maintain schemas, data models, data dictionaries, and technical documentation.
- Support field inspection activities and data collection, requiring up to 25% travel.
Requirements
- Experience with ASP.NET MVC, Classic ASP, VB.NET, Visual Studio, and Python.
- Strong experience with SQL Server, Oracle, and Microsoft Access.
- Proficiency with JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, XML, JSON, HTML/XHTML, and VBA.
- Understanding of relational database design and object-oriented programming.
- Experience with database administration, patching, tuning, and maintenance on Windows servers.
- Familiarity with NBIS, NTIS, SDMS, PONTIS, BrM, or AssetWise preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
