Database Developer

Location: Jersey City, New Jersey | Job type: Contract | Work hours: 8am to 5pm

About the role

We are seeking an expert application developer with 15+ years of experience to design, optimize, and maintain large-scale data processing solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and data modeling, along with strong proficiency in Informatica and Linux/Unix scripting.

Responsibilities

• Develop highly optimized Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code for large-scale data processing.
• Design and implement relational and dimensional data models, including Star and Snowflake schemas.
• Leverage Informatica (PowerCenter and IDMC) for ETL processes and data integration.
• Write and maintain Linux/Unix scripts to support data workflows.
• Optimize Oracle database architecture and core database internals for performance.
• Tune queries and applications in high-volume environments to ensure scalability.
• Design, model, and optimize database schemas for performance and scalability.
• Work with Hadoop, Tableau, and Power BI for data processing and visualization.
• Collaborate on financial crimes, economic sanctions, and banking data solutions, including sanctions screening, PEP, and negative news analysis.
• Participate in Agile delivery using JIRA and support Java-based development where needed.

Requirements

• 15+ years of application development experience.
• Proven experience managing and processing large datasets efficiently.
• Experience integrating Data Warehouse solutions with Business Intelligence platforms.
• Strong proficiency in Tableau development and dashboard visualization.
• Familiarity with Delta Lake and Lakehouse architectures.
• Experience with containers and cloud platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Exposure to APIs, Spring, Java, Kafka, MQ, and YAML.
• Experience with distributed systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

Pay

$54.62 - $64.62 per hour
