Database Administrator - Hybrid
About the role
This position is responsible for supporting and maintaining Oracle and MySQL database installations for the University of Missouri System. The role involves installation, upgrading, and patching of database software; backup and restore of databases; maintaining database replication for disaster recovery; troubleshooting performance and configuration issues; maintaining and customizing database monitoring solutions; and developing standardized reproducible methods for these tasks. Participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation and some off-hour work is required.
Responsibilities
- Install, upgrade, and patch Oracle and MySQL database software
- Perform backup and restore of databases
- Maintain database replication for disaster recovery purposes
- Troubleshoot performance and configuration issues
- Maintain and customize database monitoring solutions
- Develop and implement standardized, reproducible methods for database administration tasks
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and perform off-hour work as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Four or more years of experience administering Oracle and MySQL databases, including proficient use of RMAN, Grid Control, ASM, Data Guard, and RDBMS technical tools for root cause analysis and service restoration
- Residence within the state of Missouri
- Experience with scripting and automation
Pay
Salary range: $53,976.00 - $86,632.00 per year.
Schedule
- Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- 24x7 on-call rotation and some off-hour work required
