About the role

Seeking an experienced Database Administrator to design, develop, and maintain scalable database solutions that ensure optimal performance, security, and compliance with organizational standards. This role involves contributing throughout the full system development lifecycle, optimizing database and application performance, and supporting efficient database environment operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain database systems to meet organizational requirements.
  • Monitor and manage database performance and disk usage to ensure stability.
  • Support and optimize database access methods and security protocols.
  • Provide consultation on database analysis, modeling, coding, and troubleshooting production issues.
  • Develop and document backup, recovery, and maintenance procedures.
  • Serve as the primary on-call support for production database problems.
  • Support and enforce corporate data standards and recommend new DBMS operational standards.
  • Evaluate and test new software releases and upgrades.
  • Maintain metadata repositories and system documentation.

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience as an associate DBA.
  • Proficiency in DML, DDL, and database utilities for at least two DBMS technologies.
  • Expertise in all access methods of a DBMS and underlying operating system access methods.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Business.
  • 3+ years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • 1+ year experience with Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines or a strong enthusiasm to learn.
  • 1+ year experience with PostgreSQL.

Qualifications

  • Related financial industry experience.
  • Microsoft Certified: Database Administrator Associate.
