Primary Responsibilities
- Database Administration (Oracle Databases)
- Serve as the primary technical owner for Oracle / Lawson database-related tasks and support, as our third-party service provider transitions off at the end of the year
- Oversee Lawson-related performance monitoring, backups, recovery coordination, and database support activities
- Support database-related aspects of system implementations, upgrades, and operational stability
- Cook up data access, integrations, and downstream data usage to ensure Lawson data is effectively leveraged across analytics and reporting platforms
- Data Platform & Warehouses (Snowflake / AWS)
- Support the Snowflake data warehouse environment, including data modeling and performance tuning
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and workflows within AWS (e.g., S3, Lambda, Glue, or similar services)
- Design and implement scalable data structures to support analytics / reporting needs
- Monitor data pipelines and ensure reliability, performance, and data integrity
- Data Integration, ETL & Transformation
- Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT processes to move and transform data across systems
- Perform data cleansing, validation, and reconciliation between source and target systems
- Support ongoing data migration and integration efforts, including Drupal
- Develop and optimize SQL queries for transformation and reporting
- Drupal Data & Reporting
- Aid with Drupal (Acquia) data structures to extract, transform, and prepare data for reporting and analytics
- Validate and reconcile data migrated from the private website to Drupal to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Enable downstream reporting tools and dashboards through well-structured datasets
- Integrate Drupal and digital analytics data using platforms such as Google BigQuery to support scalable, actionable reporting
- Cross-System Data Management
- Support the need for consistent and synchronized data across platforms including Lawson, Snowflake, Drupal, and AWS
- Establish and enforce data governance and data quality best practices
- Document data flows, transformations, and system integrations
- At least three years of hands-on experience with Oracle databases
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of experience working with data platforms, databases, or data engineering workflows
- Proficient in writing complex SQL queries
- Strong SQL skills with experience writing complex queries and transformations
- Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse technologies
- Experience working with AWS data services (e.g., S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, or similar)
- Familiarity with extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL)/ELT tools and data pipeline development
- Experience working with web or CMS data structures (Drupal experience preferred)
- Experience working in both Windows and Linux operating systems
- Experience migrating databases to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Oracle) is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in administering Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL databases
- Experienced in managing and improving database security
- Ability to establish and enforce database management best practices with a focus on continuous improvement
- Experience with reporting/BI tools (e.g. Qlik, Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
- Familiarity with data governance and data quality frameworks
- Experience working in hybrid environments combining legacy systems and modern cloud platforms
