Data Workflow Engineer – AI & Automation Focus
About the role
We’re looking for a Data Workflow Engineer with a strong foundation in building scalable data systems and a practical, solution-oriented mindset. In this role, you’ll transform fragmented occupancy and lease analytics processes into streamlined, automated workflows. You will design and implement tools that improve data quality, reduce manual effort, and enable more advanced analytics capabilities, while also exploring how AI and automation can enhance data operations over time.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines to consolidate and transform occupancy, lease, and facilities data from multiple sources
- Develop automated validation and reconciliation frameworks to improve data quality and reduce manual effort
- Analyze current workflows, identify pain points, and translate them into scalable data engineering solutions
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to align solutions with operational needs
- Partner with offshore teams to automate repetitive processes and improve overall efficiency
- Implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve data issues
- Explore and apply AI/ML techniques (e.g., anomaly detection, intelligent data matching) to enhance validation and insights
- Continuously improve workflows and processes to increase scalability, accuracy, and performance
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Prefect)
- Experience working with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Azure Synapse)
- Solid understanding of data modeling, data quality, and reconciliation best practices
- Proven ability to solve complex data challenges and work independently
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
- Experience with enterprise systems (e.g., lease, occupancy, facilities platforms) is a plus
- Foundational knowledge or interest in AI/ML concepts (e.g., anomaly detection, NLP, classification)
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new tools and technologies, especially in AI and automation
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field
- Professional certifications in data engineering or related fields (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer)
